Terms of Service
Last updated 24 October 2026
These are the rules for using Serwaah. They are written to be read, not to be skipped, so they are shorter and plainer than most. Please read them before you book or start taking bookings.
1.Who this agreement is with
Serwaah is operated by Dennis Prestige Enterprise, a sole proprietorship registered in Ghana under business registration number BN892411121 and based in Kumasi, Ghana. In this document "we" and "us" mean that operator, and "you" means the person using the platform, whether you are booking an appointment or taking bookings as a provider.
By creating an account you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not create an account.
2.What Serwaah does, and what it does not do
Serwaah is a marketplace. We connect customers with independent salons, barbers, spas and the professionals who work in them. We are not the provider of any service you book.
The haircut, the treatment and the standard of the work are the responsibility of the business you booked with. We verify that a business is real before it appears, and we remove businesses that do not meet that standard, but we do not employ them and we do not supervise the work.
If something goes wrong with a service, tell us. We can mediate, withhold a payout and remove a business from the platform. We cannot perform the service again ourselves.
3.Your account
You sign in with your phone number and a one time code. You are responsible for keeping access to that number secure, because anyone who can receive your codes can reach your account.
One person, one account. Do not create an account for someone else, and do not sell or transfer yours.
You must be 18 or older to take bookings as a provider. Customers under 18 should book with a parent or guardian involved.
4.Booking and payment
When you book and pay, the money is held by us until the appointment is complete. It is not paid to the business at the moment you book. This protects both sides: you are not paying for something that has not happened, and the business knows the booking is real.
Once the appointment is marked complete, the amount is released to the business wallet, less our service fee. The fee is shown before you confirm, every time.
Payments are processed by a licensed payment provider. We never see or store your full card number or your mobile money PIN.
Prices are set by each business and shown in Ghana cedis. A business can change its prices, but never for a booking you have already confirmed.
5.Cancellations and refunds
You can cancel and receive a full refund up to 24 hours before the appointment. The refund goes back to your Serwaah wallet immediately, and you can withdraw it from there.
Cancelling inside 24 hours means the business has lost a slot it could have sold. Those cancellations are not automatically refunded. Contact the business first, and contact us if you cannot reach agreement.
If a business cancels on you, or does not open, you are refunded in full regardless of timing. Tell us when this happens: repeated cancellations by a business are grounds for removal.
If you do not turn up and do not cancel, the booking is marked as a no show and is not refunded.
6.If you take bookings as a provider
You must be able to legally offer the services you list, and you must hold whatever licences your trade requires. We verify identity, not qualifications.
Verification requires a Ghana Card. Submitting a card that is not yours, or one already registered to another owner, ends the account.
Your photos must be of work you actually did. Passing off someone else's work as your own is the fastest way to lose an account here, because it is the one thing that makes the whole platform worthless.
Payouts are made to the mobile money or bank account you register. Keep those details current: we are not responsible for money sent to an account you no longer control.
Honour your published hours. Repeatedly failing to open for confirmed bookings will get your business suspended.
7.Reviews
Only a customer who completed a booking can review it. Reviews are published as written.
We remove reviews that contain personal attacks, another person's private information, or content that is unlawful. We do not remove a review for being negative, and we do not accept payment to remove one.
A business can reply once to any review. Businesses may not offer discounts or free services in exchange for reviews.
8.What you may not do
Do not use Serwaah to arrange anything unlawful. Do not harass other users or staff. Do not attempt to take bookings or payments outside the platform after meeting through it.
Do not scrape the platform, attempt to break its security, or use it in a way designed to overload it.
We may suspend or close any account that does these things, and we will cooperate with law enforcement where the law requires it.
9.Availability
We work to keep Serwaah running, but we do not promise it will be available without interruption. Maintenance, network failures and provider outages happen.
Where an outage prevents an appointment going ahead, you are refunded in full.
10.Our liability
Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited under Ghanaian law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Subject to that, our liability to you for any booking is limited to the amount you paid for it. We are not liable for indirect losses such as lost earnings or missed opportunities.
11.Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect, and continuing to use Serwaah after that means you accept it.
Changes never apply retroactively to a booking you have already made.
12.Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana, and the courts of Ghana have jurisdiction over any dispute.
Before going to court, please write to support@serwaah.com. Most disputes are settled faster that way.
