Privacy Policy

This explains what Serwaah collects about you, why we need it, who else gets to see it, and how to make us delete it. It is written plainly on purpose.
1.Who is responsible for your data
Dennis Prestige Enterprise, a sole proprietorship registered in Ghana under business registration number BN892411121 and based in Kumasi, Ghana, is the data controller for the information described here. Dennis Prestige Enterprise is registered with the Data Protection Commission of Ghana.
To reach us about anything in this document, write to support@serwaah.com.
2.What we collect from everyone
Your phone number, because it is how you sign in and how we send the code that proves it is you. Your name, so businesses know who is arriving.
Your bookings: which business, which service, which professional, when, and what you paid.
Basic technical information your device sends when it connects, such as its network address and browser, which we use to keep accounts secure and to find faults.
3.Your location
We ask for your location only when you tap something that needs it, such as sorting businesses by distance or drawing directions. We never ask in the background and we never ask on first open.
Your position is sent to our server to calculate distance and to fetch a route, and it is not stored against your account afterwards. Refusing the permission costs you distance sorting and directions, and nothing else.
4.If you take bookings as a provider
Verification requires your Ghana Card number and a photograph of the card. This is national identity data, so it is treated differently from everything else: access is restricted to the small number of staff who handle verification, and it is never shown to customers.
We keep it because we need to be able to demonstrate that a verified business was genuinely verified, and because a card that has been rejected for fraud must not simply be resubmitted. We keep it for as long as the business is on the platform, and for five years after it leaves, which is the period in which a dispute can still be raised.
We also hold your business address, your working hours, your prices and the payout account you nominate.
When you upload a verification document, Afia-Serwaah, our assistant, reads it automatically to catch problems early (a blurry photo, a name that does not match, an expired card). This is done by Anthropic, an AI provider acting on our instructions, which does not use it to train its models. The reading only ever adds points for our review team to look at; it never approves or rejects a business on its own.
5.Chatting with Afia-Serwaah
Afia-Serwaah is an AI assistant. What you type to her, and her replies, are stored with your account so the conversation can continue, and are processed by Anthropic, our AI provider, to produce each answer. Anthropic acts on our instructions and does not use it to train its models.
She can only see what your own account can see: your bookings, and your business if you own one. She cannot book or cancel anything without you tapping Confirm. Do not type card numbers or mobile money PINs into the chat; she will never ask for them.
We keep conversations for twelve months so we can look into anything that went wrong, then delete them.
6.Payments
Card numbers and mobile money PINs are entered directly with our payment provider and never reach our servers. We store the amount, the currency, the time, whether it succeeded, and the reference the provider gives us.
We keep payment records for six years, because tax law requires it. Deleting your account does not remove them.
7.Photographs
Photographs uploaded by businesses are hosted by Cloudinary, our image provider, and are served from their network. Portfolio photographs are public: that is their purpose.
If you appear in a photograph published by a business and you did not agree to it, tell us and we will have it removed.
8.Who else sees your information
The business you book with sees your name, your phone number and the details of your booking. It cannot see your other bookings, or anything about your account beyond that.
Our service providers see only what they need in order to do their job: the payment gateway sees payment details, the SMS provider sees your phone number and the message, the image host sees uploaded photographs, our AI provider sees assistant chats and verification documents, and our hosting and database providers hold the platform itself.
We do not sell your information. We do not share it for advertising. We disclose it to authorities only where the law requires it, and we will tell you when that happens unless we are prohibited from doing so.
9.Messages we send
Verification codes and booking notifications are part of the service and cannot be switched off, because without them a booking cannot work.
Marketing messages are separate, are off unless you turn them on, and can be turned off at any time in your account settings.
10.How long we keep things
Your account and booking history stay while your account is open. Close your account and we delete your profile within 30 days.
Payment records are kept for six years and verification documents for five years after a business leaves, as described above. These are legal retention periods, not choices, and they survive account closure.
11.How your information is protected
Traffic is encrypted in transit. Passwords, where used, are hashed and never stored in a form anyone can read. Access to administrative tools requires a second factor and is limited to staff who need it.
Repeated failed sign in attempts lock an account rather than allowing an attacker to keep guessing.
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your data we will tell you and the Data Protection Commission, without unnecessary delay.
12.Your rights
Under the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) you can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to how we use it.
Write to support@serwaah.com and we will respond within 30 days. We may need to confirm your identity first, which usually means a code to your registered number.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission of Ghana.
13.Children
Serwaah is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has created an account, tell us and we will remove it.
14.Changes to this policy
If we change how we use your information in a way that materially affects you, we will tell you in the app before the change takes effect, rather than quietly updating this page.
